Blizzard: We Might Return to Console Development
It's been years since Blizzard lay out a game on a console, but that doesn't normal it's turned its hindermost on them.
It's user-friendly to look upon Blizzard as a Personal computer only developer, afterwards all it created one of the biggest MMORPGs in the world, and has just released StarCraft 2, peradventure the most eagerly anticipated PC game in Holocene history. But despite its current Microcomputer focus, Blizzard has also created console games in the past, and says it power do again, for the straight game.
Michael Ryder, Blizzard's VP and executive MD of internal operations, said that console games were Blizzard's inheritance, but that plan decisions and the desire to give its players the superfine practicable know, had meant that Snowstorm had leaned towards in Personal computer development in recent age.
But Ryder also said that Blizzard played all kinds of games, and was "up to fastness" on entirely console platforms. He said that if Blizzard thought that a finicky courageous design would work well happening a console, then it might act on that opportunity.
The last foray that Blizzard made into console development was ill-sure StarCraft: Ghost, which was declared in 2002 and "indefinitely deferred" in 2006. There have been rumors that suggest that Blizzard is in dialogue to bring Diablo 3 to consoles, but these have yet to be confirmed.
